BEM 20/10/2002 12:20pm | Need help with another problem.
I have set Scribe as my default e-mail client in IE5 and have checked registry entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/MAILTO/SHELL/OPEN/COMMAND and it shows c:scribescribe.exe /m "%1" When I click on an e-mail link, it brings up Scribe, as it should, ready to enter outgoing message. The problem is, clicking on IE5, Mail, Read Mail, does nothing. With Outlook Express set as a default, doing the same thing brings up Outlook Express. Is there something else that needs to be set? Thanks. |
Bardo 20/10/2002 12:32pm | Hi BEM,
As far as I can tell, you might want to check your default options under M$ Internet Explorer. I don't know for sure about IE5, but with IE6, menu option Extra, Internet Options, you will find a tab named Programs. Here you can set your default emailclient, mailreader, etc. Hope this answers your question. Regards, Bardo |
BEM 20/10/2002 3:39pm | I'm not familiar with M$ Internet Options.
I'm using Windows 95 with IE5. I did find one thing about my system. If I set Outlook Express as my default e-mail, I then have a URL:MailTo Protocol under Windows Explorer/Options/File Types. If I set Scribe as my default e-mail, the URL:MailTo Protocol is missing. Perhaps this is problem area? Still looking for solution. |
