Author/Date | Is there "upload message to IMAP" or "edit IMAP message" features? |
lwc 29/03/2021 1:20am | Can you take a message (internal one or an external EML file) and upload it into the server via IMAP?
Moreover, can you edit IMAP messages? |
fret 29/03/2021 9:37am | Can you take a message (internal one or an external EML file) and upload it into the server via IMAP? Yes that's entirely possible. However I just tried dropping an .eml on an IMAP folder and it didn't work. That's just a bug. Moving a non IMAP mail from an existing folder works though. Moreover, can you edit IMAP messages? No, you'd have to upload a new version and then delete the old. |
fret 29/03/2021 11:28am | There is a fix in the next build for dropping .eml onto an IMAP folder. |
lwc 21/04/2021 8:22am | Thanks! Will it upload it with a new date or reserve the original one?
Some mailers like Thunderbird treat it like a new message, which is very annoying as they put it in the top of the inbox. Others like Pop Peeper respects the original date in the EML file's headers and treat it like a true migration. For example, see internal_date in https://www.php.net/imap-append |

Thanks! |
fret 05/12/2021 6:40pm | It uses the original header date. |
