PopOverHttp
Date: 28/9/2004
We've just finished the first round of testing for our new endevour, and now we need beta testers!

Presenting: PopOverHttp.com.

PopOverHttp is a protocol that encodes a POP connection over the web so that users that can't connect directly to a POP server can get their mail via a web proxy. Although that isn't the only reason you'd use PopOverHttp, because on top of running through web proxies it's much faster than regular POP because it has far less latency.

Anyway this new site is currently accepting new accounts for local addresses (i.e. user@popoverhttp.com) and may in the future offer access to external POP accounts as well. But at least not yet.

Pricing is yet to be announced, but the plan is to cover costs. Beta testers get a free account for at least 12 months. Also I'm sure there are going to be issues so let us know how things go.
